About our Teas

How long can teas be kept?

Dried teas do not have a strict expiry date, but for the best taste and aroma we recommend consuming them within the following timeframes when stored properly in an airtight container, away from light, heat, moisture, and strong odors:

  • Black, oolong, and rooibos teas: up to 2 years

  • Green, white, and herbal teas: up to 1 year

  • Powdered teas: refrigerate after opening and consume within 1–2 months for best quality

How can I measure water temperature without a thermometer?

You can estimate water temperature by observing the bubbles and steam:

  • 100°C / 212°F – Rolling boil

  • 90–96°C / 195–205°F – Continuous strings of bubbles rising

  • 83–85°C / 180–185°F – Large bubbles forming at the bottom

  • 80–82°C / 175–179°F – Small bubbles rise and pop, light steam visible

What are the instructions for brewing teas?

Brewing instructions vary by tea. Please refer to the back of the package or the product page for recommended leaf amount, water temperature, and steeping time.

Why should I choose organic teas?

We use only certified organic ingredients because brewing tea extracts what the plant has absorbed during growth. Organic teas are grown without synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, GMOs, sewage sludge, or artificial growth regulators.

 

Choosing organic benefits both your body and the environment by reducing chemical runoff, protecting soil health, and supporting biodiversity and natural growth cycles.

Are all teas allergen-free?

Yes. All of our teas are:

  • Gluten-free

  • Nut-free

  • Free from animal products (vegan)

Why does the packaging look like plastic if it’s compostable?

Our packaging is made from wood pulp cellulose films and printed using HP Indigo Digital Technology. All inks used are certified safe for compostable packaging.

How long does the packaging take to decompose?

  • Home compost: approximately 8–12 months

  • Industrial composting facilities: 6 months or less

(American Express is currently not accepted.)
